Did you see...

Monday's Oprah with Jessica Seinfeld talking about her new cookbook? I am too tired to figure out how to do the link, but the book is called Deceptively Delicious. If you didn't see it, she uses pureed veggies and fruit and puts them in foods her kids like. I love the idea of getting Luke to eat more fruits and veggies without the fight. I'm thinking about trying it out. "Thinking" is the key word, let's see if I actually do it. I wonder if the recipes are really as good as Oprah said they were when she was trying the food on her show.
If you saw the show or have tried this method before, what do you think?

I totally saw that show and I am going to try it! Not sure about the Butternut Squash and califlower, but I will definitely try it with my kids. They love certain veggies and fruit(brocoli and corn, bananas, grapes and tomatoes), but can't get them to eat too many greens! I think it's a great idea, but we'll see how it goes over.

Jamie was just telling me about this and I think I need to check it out. My boys are great at veggies, but Avery won't eat anything that is green!

I didn't see it but i read about it. I have no problems getting Ty to eat veggies. The kid loves them. However, getting brent to eat them is a different story. I just ordered the book - so if you want to try it out, let me know and i'll send you the recipes so you can try them as well. Let's be honest, i got the book to try those brownies everyone was talking about!!

I need to do it as much for Kevin as I do for Luke. You will have to let me know about the brownies. Are they really that good? How do all of you get your kids to eat veggies?

Did someone say brownies?

Jamie, butternut squash (and acorn squash)are actually somewhat sweet and taste quite a bit like pumpkin when they're cooked. It's a favorite food in our house.

I wanted to see that Oprah and forgot to watch it, but I'm a fan of the idea.

Wendy, I think the brownies she makes have pureed spinach and one other veggie in it. Sounds disgusting to me but Jerry Seinfeld says they are the best brownies.

Jake will eat veggies, but not fruit. The girls will eat fruit, but not veggies. We lack balance. They all eat salad though.

If you find a good recipie, let me know, I want to try it too!

I saw her on the Today Show this week doing many of her recipes. I think it is a good idea, maybe I would eat my veggies more if I could wrap them in chocolate pudding?
I was thinking of trying it out also, but I will wait for you to try it and give us the official review!
